Yesterday, I
diarized on the
Salt Lake Tribune's mea culpa for having published a
despicable racist Op-Ed by one "Paul Mero" of
The Sutherland Institute.
In the link above are two more letters to the editor, making a total of 8 moving and blistering attacks on Mero and on the paper the past 2 days. Today's letters are particularly touching, especially one from a 17-year-old in Provo.
The paper, to its credit, has not bothered printing any defenses of Mero's filthy tirade. Make no mistake- this is a mea culpa.
Mero has crossed the line, and it is time to ask the Sutherland Institute to suffer the consequences of its hatemongering crusade. Here is my plan.
On the Sutherland website,
several Trustees of the organization work for somewhat prominent employers. I plan on contacting each of these employers to demand these Trustees be fired, else I will undertake a campaign to educate the public as to the public political crusades of Sutherland.
Here are some names that stand out:
Maxwell A. Miller- Partner, Parsons, Behle & Latimer
Mary Ellen Smoot- Board Chairman, South Davis Community Hospital- Orchard Grove
Lyall J. Swim- Human Resources Manager, Proctor and Gamble (Cincinnati)
Daniel Witte- Legal Counsel, Beneficial Life Insurance Co.
Jaren L. Davis- Broker, Coldwell Banker and serves on Salt Lake Planning Commission and board of Utah Community Development Corporation.
and especially:
Curtis Bramble- Utah State Senator who serves on the boards of the Provo/Orem Chamber of Commerce, the Provo Airport Board, the Provo Housing Authority, and the Utah Transit Authority.
Of Bramble, the question must be asked how he can help direct such public entities when he is a despicable racist maggot.
